Spring Events at Tonkadale & FAQ

Spring Events at Tonkadale & FAQ

Posted by Sara Berg on Jan 12th 2026

We are so excited to invite you to our Spring 2026 events! Annie, our Event Coordinator is here with us today to answer all of your event related questions.

Q: What should I expect at a workshop?

A: Each workshop is a little bit different depending on the topic, but we generally start with a short informational seminar and demonstration to get the creative juices flowing! We will go over materials for your project and then offer a step-by-step demonstration so you feel confident and ready to take on the project yourself! There is always a talented team of Tonkadale staff, or a knowledgeable expert at hand to answer all of your questions and offer guidance and design assistance along the way.

Q: When the registration says "plus materials", what does that mean?

A: Your workshop fee typically covers the informational seminar and design assistance along with a few basic items needed to get the project done. This often includes potting soil if applicable, mechanics and attachments, and tools. Some workshops allow you to be as creative as you want; therefore, you choose the materials you would like to use in your finished project! This often means shopping the store or workshop tables for the perfect pieces that speak to your individual style. These items are priced individually and are purchased when you complete your project. "Plus materials" empowers you to create something unique while also having control over your final project's total cost.

Q: How do you plan topics for your events?

A: The event planning process is fluid! I am always on the lookout for interesting and engaging speakers, along with trending topics and inspiring workshops- please reach out if you have an idea or suggestion! Our main goal is to offer educational opportunities to our guests. We want our customers to feel empowered in their own skills as gardeners, plant parents, and creatives along with being better stewards of the environment. We also strive to create a sense of community and to offer experiences and activities where the whole family can participate! Some of my favorite events at Tonkadale have been those where we get to invite members of the community into our space - while building relationships with our customers, local businesses, and organizations. When keeping these ideas in mind, I am able to piece together an interesting mix of events that hopefully offers a little bit of something for everyone!

Q: How do I register for your events?

A: The best way to register is to visit the Events page on our website. Scroll down the webpage to view all events. You will notice buttons along the way that will allow you to register or rsvp for each event. Click that button, and you're on your way!

Q: What is your favorite event?

A: This is a tricky question as there are so many great events that we offer year-after-year! I love getting festive with a spruce top pot workshop, carving pumpkins with the kiddos, witnessing the magic that is Santa Claus, but my absolute favorite has been our Winter Maker's Market. There is a lot of planning that goes into this event, but it is a true passion project of mine! I relish in not only getting to invite the community in to experience the beauty and joy that is Tonkadale (especially during the holidays-my favorite time), but also meeting and supporting local small businesses and artisans. As a business that truly strives to inspire creativity and artistic vision in the home and garden, I think it is also fitting to support those in the community that have that same spirit. I am so grateful to all of the local businesses that have partnered with us on this event over the years! Join us this March for our first Spring Market!

Q: How do I become a market vendor?

A: We would be thrilled to work with you! Our markets are intentionally designed to feel warm, inspiring, and community-centered. Vendors benefit from an engaged, supportive community, beautiful surroundings that elevate your brand, and strong marketing, promotion, and storytelling leading up to the event. Check in with our Become a Vendor page for updates and information on upcoming markets, like our Spring Bloom Bazaar!

Q: How do I get in touch if I have questions about an event?

A: I am always happy to help and answer any questions, comments, or concerns you might have! You can reach me here annie@tonkadale.com
