🌿Hey plant friends! 🌿
This week we are going to be talking about Peperomia! These plants belong to the Piperaceae family along with 1500 other species and are native to Mexico, South America, and the West Indies. Peperomia are a fun plant because there are so many different shapes and sizes. If you are looking for a plant that stays relatively small, then this is a great one for a coffee table or book end. Peperomia are also a great plant for the beginner houseplant enthusiast.
Peperomia will need medium to bright light. Morning light and then filtered light would be best. Direct light will burn their leaves. Peperomia are going to want a well-draining soil like the Espoma Potting Mix or even the Espoma Cactus soil. What is great about these plants is that they have a succulent like leaf, meaning they don’t need as much water unlike other houseplants. They can hold a lot of water in those leaves. Keeping them on the drier side is recommended. Allow the surface of the soil to dry out before giving it a good drink. A great tip for keeping your Peperomia happy is to give it humidity when possible.
