Anthurium Lili Pink

Hey Plant Friends!

This week we are talking about Anthurium andraeanum, more commonly known as Anthurium ‘Lilli Pink’. This adorable plant belongs to the Araceae plant family and is native to Colombia and Ecuador. Known for its colorful, long-lasting flowers and small size, Anthurium ‘Lilli Pink’ is a great blooming plant to add a pop of color to your space.

Let’s talk about care. Anthurium thrive in bright, indirect light indoors. Avoid direct sun as this will cause leaf scorch. Grow in the shade outdoors during the growing season. When it’s time to water, allow the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry before giving a good soak. Make sure plants don’t sit in standing water, as this will lead to root rot. Cut back on watering during the winter months as growth will slow due to less quantity and quality of light. When it’s time to repot, we recommend Sol Soils Houseplant Chunky Mix. This mix provides great aeration and drainage which your Anthurium and all aroids need to thrive. Add humidity to your environment using a Continuous Spray Bottle. Your plant will thank you for it! Regularly scout for pests to catch them early. Check for pests weekly while watering to treat as soon as possible. Keep a close eye out for mealybugs, spider mites, and thrips. Keep a bottle of Bonide’s Insecticidal Soap on hand to treat as needed.

We currently carry Anthurium ‘Lilli Pink’ in 4” pots in the greenhouse. If you have any further questions feel free to reach out to us by phone, Instagram, or email us at hello@tonkadale.com.
