Media Team Intern

Objective

To work 2 days per week/16 hrs per week as a media intern to support all aspects of the media team. An ideal candidate loves plants, is approachable, and is committed to keeping Tonkadale’s brand consistent across all channels, is confident in their creative talent, willing to give and receive feedback, and has a careful balance of efficiency and accuracy.

What you offer

Relevant education or job experience and desirable attributes that support the objective, responsibilities, and requirements of this position. Entry level experience in graphic design, social media management, reel production and editing, and illustration are preferred. Sufficient understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), workable knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing) or iMovie, and Canva is a plus but not required. Additional desired skills include illustration with simple animation, photography, and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel). Appreciation for plants and gardening. Basic plant knowledge and identification is desirable, but not required.

Tasks and duties

  • Film, edit, produce, and post weekly assigned reel content to Instagram and TikTok with guidance from Content Manager.
  • Film, edit, produce, and post weekly assigned Instagram stories based on social media calendar content with guidance from Content Manager.
  • Assist Content Manager with seasonal design refreshes for use in email, print, signage, web, apparel, and other marketing materials.
  • Engage in marketing strategy and content planning.
  • Support photo shoots related to content creation and online store.
  • Photograph new plant arrivals and hardgoods for online shop using in-house camera.
  • Support all Media Team projects and deliverables.
