Grow your clivia in bright indirect light with almost no direct sunlight. Water regularly and allow medium to dry in between waterings. Plant in a course, well draining mix like an orchid mix. Fertilize at half strength during the growing season.
This plant requires a period of dormancy in the late winter months (approximatly October through January). This is when the plant forms buds to bloom. Do not water during this period. Keep the plant somewhere around 40-50 degrees F throughout this time.
Clivia like to be root-bound and can live in the same pot for 3-5 years.
