Tonkadale is ridiculously passionate about what we do and obsessed with your success. We also like to have fun. And that, my friends, is why you are invited to our fall events.
Customer Appreciation Weekend
We start out the series with our favorite and yours: Customer Appreciation Weekend. This is our chance to celebrate you with hot dogs, root beer floats and SALES. This year, we are doing things a little different.
It’s a progressive perennial sale starting Friday, Sept. 9. with a few rules to follow: no holds and no returns. Pinky promise. We are also adding a few more items to the sale, that never go on sale. We want to say thank you to our house plant people, too.
An opportunity to create a finished product in our cozy workshop space. This year we are planting fall containers, creating wreaths and wall baskets and livin’ it up on fairy gardens! Expert tip: Fairy Garden Friday conveniently corresponds with MEA break. Kids, bring your adult. These are the workshop basics:
Workshops begin with a short, informational seminar detailing project materials, mechanics and design. Design staff will be available to assist you as you create and construct your item in our workshop space.
- Registration is required for all workshops.
- The workshop fee is paid upon completion of your project and does not include materials used.
- Typical materials used are listed here on the workshop registration page.
- No outside plants or materials, please.
- Workshop participants always leave with a finished project they can be proud of!
New this year are Demonstration Stations. This is your opportunity to attend free demonstrations on a variety of gardening subjects, hosted by the folks at Tonkadale. We include you in hands-on learning to create success in your garden and home. Bring the kiddos, we’ll have some projects to keep them busy. Topics include:

Fundraiser to Benefit Underdog Rescue
Saturday, September 23, 1:00 pm—5:00 pm
When Underdog Rescue approached Tonkadale to host their annual fundraiser, of course we said YES! We have the space and are happy to share! Our furry friends are an important part of our community and Tonkadale has been dog friendly since the beginning of time. Our four legged friends are always welcome, as long as their owners behave!
Underground Rescue has an amazing line-up for the event including vendor booths, a silent auction, photo booth, dogs ready to adopt, food, fun and music and beer provided by our friends at LTD Brewing.
When we come together, plant a plant, adopt a dog and drink a beer good things will happen.
Hipster Houseplant Runway Show
Saturday, October 7, 10:00 am
Last March Tonkadale partnered up with locally based athletic wear company, Zuma Blu to style plants for their absolutely fabulous launch party at Bachelor Farmer. Now we’re doing a runway show featuring styled up selections of house plants by Tonkadale, clothing by Zuma Blu and jewelry by Paisley and Sparrow (another fabulous local business). Zuma Blu is on a mission to create bully-free schools where all students are included. Paisley and Sparrow is making a difference too! Products are made by at-risk women around the world.
Saturday, October 28, 10:00 am—4:00 pm
Fall would not be complete without our most popular event. To put it simply, carve a pumpkin and leave the mess here. Last year, you guys carved out over 200 pumpkins! All you gotta do is buy your pumpkin at Tonkadale. Registration is not required, just show up! Tonkadale provides you with tools, stencils and accessories. Costumes are encouraged at this all ages event and there will be a lovely fall photo opportunity on our seminar stage.
See you at Tonkadale!
