Hipster houseplant runway show

Posted by Jessie Jacobson on Feb 2nd 2017

The plantparazzi will be out and about on Saturday, February 11th at 10:00 am for a haute houseplant hap.  A house plant runway show with commentary highlighting how to grow, plant and style indoors. You may see us wearing high-fashion items like cactus tights, clay pot necklaces and rain boots for the presentation of this seminar!  Dress is garden-themed — dirt under your fingernails optional.  Walk the green, red carpet with the who's who of houseplants. Commonly referred to as houseplant housing, we have a great selection of containers, baskets, hanging items and pots for all your house plant needs — a ton of new stuff coming in the door every day from here on out.  Besides having the best containers and the bestest plants, we also have the know-how — growing tips, light requirements and watering recommendations. After the show, staff will be on hand to help you re-pot plants that might need a refresh!  We have the space and the soil to do it.  If you plan to bring in plants from home, please make sure they are bug- and pest-free.  Sharing is not caring!  Also, make sure to wrap them up in plastic to protect them from the cold.  Garbage bags and plastic tubs with lids work great for this! We're going for it!  Let's get together and burn the white sage and listen to the Grateful Dead. Or not/knot (couldn't resist).  Let's just get together, have a snack and hang while we make our very own

Macrame Plant Hangers at this brand new workshop!

Saturday, March 11th          2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

[one_half][/one_half] [one_half_last][/one_half_last] Create a macrame plant hanger to enjoy indoors.  Your finished plant hanger will accommodate a variety of pot sizes.  Tonkadale stocks multiple vessels for purchase and plants to fill them.  If you have a container in mind, bring it along. The class fee is $75.00 which includes instruction, the hanger ring (not sure what the technical term for this is), 100 feet of cotton or nylon cording, beads and baubles and, of course, great company in our workshop space.  If we can do this, you can do this.  The process is stress-free and actually relaxing.  Bring a friend and join the fun! Workshops begin with a short, informational seminar detailing project materials, mechanics and design. Design staff will be available to assist you as you create and construct your item in our workshop space.
  • Registration is required for all workshops!
  • The workshop fee is paid upon completion of your project.
  • No outside plants or accessories, please.
  • Workshop participants always leave with a finished project they can be proud of!
