Tonkadale Greenhouse has donated plants to Project Focus for their “Grow and Give” Garden.
Serving our community with ‘Grow and Give’ gardens
Starting with the 2015 growing season, Tonkadale Greenhouse is now sponsoring community gardens for its Grow and Give program. This replaces our previous program of providing plants and seeds for individual gardens.
“We very much appreciate the contributions from the gardeners who have raised vegetables for the ICA Food Shelf,” says Jessie Jacobson, general manager of Tonkadale Greenhouse. “We have found that community gardens are very effective and efficient at growing produce for donation to the Food Shelf, and we want to encourage this further. If you are an individual gardener who is still interested in participating, we encourage you to get in touch with a community garden to help out, or start one of your own.”
Managers or sponsors of community gardens in Minnetonka and the surrounding area are invited to fill out the form below to submit a request for plants and seeds for their garden. Once their request is approved, we will arrange a time for you to pick up your seeds and plants so you can start gardening.
If you have questions or need further information, please contact Jessie at 952-938-6480, or email her at hello (at) tonkadale.com

“Ron just brought over the refreshed flower pots for ICA. They are gorgeous. Can’t tell you how they lighten up the day for our clients and staff! You are a great community partner!”

Share your harvest!
We would love to publish photos of your garden and your gardeners! We’d also like it if you’d let us know at the end of the season what you grew, and how much you gave to the ICA Food Shelf.
From Project Focus:
Dear Ms. Jacobson,
My name is Ellie Maag, and I’m the leader of Hopkins High School club devoted to homelessness relief called Project Focus. Tonkadale generously donated plants to us lat year. I am happy to report that we in turn grew 120+ pound of food that we gave to the ICA Food Shelf. On behalf of all of Project Focus, I wanted to express our sincerest gratitude. We hope you are doing well. Thank you so much!
