Fire cider is an age-old folk remedy used to enhance the immune system, stimulate digestion and chase away a winter chill. Traditionally made in the fall with freshly harvested vegetables and herbs, fire cider is preserved in a base of apple cider vinegar. Typical ingredients include a combination of garlic, onions, peppers, ginger, horseradish and more. Your batch is easily customizable and you will have a variety of options to choose from. Favorite additions include herbs such as turmeric, rosemary, burdock, yellow dock and star anise.
Many swear by fire cider’s power to stop a cold in its tracks if taken at the first sign of a scratchy throat or sniffle. It can also be added to salads, soups, stir-fries and non-alcoholic drinks. Those that cannot seem to shake the winter chill enjoy taking one tablespoon on a cold winters morning.
$15.00 – Registration fee includes instruction and materials to create your very own batch of fire cider.
