We collected over 700 pounds of fresh produce in 2009, and that doesn't even count the drop-offs made directly at the foodshelf.  Let's raise awareness that there is a need for fresh produce in our community, and we can grow it and give it in our own backyards!   

Here's how it works:

Tonkadale and the ICA Foodshelf will partner the spring for the 2nd annual "Grow and Give" Event

With a generous grant from the CHS Foundation, Tonkadale will offer FREE vegetables and seeds to the first 100 community members who wish to plant an extra row in their vegetable gardens for the ICA Foodshelf.

The plan is easy:

1. Plant the vegetables

      3 Plants: Tomato-Pepper-Zucchini, 2 Seed Packets: Beans & Carrots

2. Harvest

3. Deliver fresh produce to Tonkadale Greenhouse in July, August and September 

4. Be Rewarded with Tonkadale Loyalty Points!

Scare Away Hunger this Holiday Season - Tonkadale's Scarecrow Contest

Once again, Tonkadale's Scarecrow Competition was a huge success.  Thank you to all participants.

We raised over 1,000 dollars/canned food items for the ICA Foodshelf in Minnetonka.
